Sixty-four farmers from barangays Samariniana and Maasin joined an orientation on the Transformation and Reintegration Program on September 14, led by the provincial government through its Pathways to Peace and Reintegration (PPR) initiative.
The activity was conducted in partnership with the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), the Palawan Peace and Security Cluster, and Mata ng Bayan Pilipinas-Palawan Chapter.
Discussions focused on livelihood development and support that farmers may access through the provincial government and partner agencies. Organizers said the initiative aims to prioritize agricultural needs and strengthen food security in Palawan.
The provincial government said the program is also part of efforts to ensure community welfare and prevent the spread of armed rebellion by providing sustainable opportunities for farmers.
