The Armed Forces of the Philippines chief, General Romeo Brawner Jr., expressed gratitude to all military personnel on Tuesday for their professional services, devotion, and non-partisan conduct that helped make the May 12 national and municipal elections a success.
“I extend my deepest personal gratitude to all the men and women of the AFP for their dedicated and professional service in support of this important democratic exercise,” the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief said in a statement.
He stressed that the AFP’s efforts, especially in areas threatened by violence or armed groups, helped build confidence among voters and ensured that they could safely exercise their right to vote.
Brawner said this level of commitment reflects the military’s continuing duty to serve the Filipino people without bias or political involvement.
“You have once again proven that the AFP remains a steadfast and non-partisan pillar of democracy,” he added.
He also sent his gratitude to every Filipino people for their confidence and solidarity. Brawner said that the active engagement and vigilance of the people are what gave the Philippine democracy its vitality.
