The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Regional Office Mimaropa formally opened its 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration on Monday, March 2, led by Regional Director Clarence E. Mayangao.
In a simple ceremony held at the regional headquarters, Mayangao underscored the vital role of women in nation-building and public service, particularly in the field of corrections management.
He said the observance highlights the contributions of women personnel in ensuring safe, humane, and gender-responsive jail management across the Mimaropa region.
“The strength of our organization lies in the dedication and compassion of our people. Today, we recognize the invaluable service of our women personnel who continue to uphold professionalism and integrity in the performance of their duties,” Mayangao said.
The month-long celebration will feature a series of activities aimed at promoting women’s empowerment, gender equality, and awareness of women’s rights, in line with the national theme for this year’s observance.
BJMP Mimaropa reiterated its commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and supporting programs that advance the welfare and development of women personnel and persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
National Women’s Month is celebrated every March pursuant to Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988, as amended, which recognizes the significant role of women in Philippine society.
