The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Palawan is holding its 1st Quarter 2020 Provincial Trade Fair at Robinsons Place Palawan.

The BJMP Trade Fair started February 13 and will last until February 15.

The trade fair, according to jail officials, is to help inmates sell their handicraft products to consumers.

“This is to raise awareness and at the same time ay tinutulungan natin ang ating mga PDLs (persons deprived of liberty) na kumita even inside the jail,” JO1 Alexis Forones of the Brooke’s Point District Jail said.

Forones added they are also using the occasion to publicize their recruitment effort since BJMP is needing more personnel for this year.

Among the items being sold at the fair are keychains, potholders, rags, coin purses, hand-painted eco-bags, recycled plastic flower bottles, coconut shell coin banks, and ceramic coin banks.
