Bataraza residents can soon avail of the free hospitalization upon the initiative of the municipal government.

The municipal government of Bataraza announced it will roll out free hospitalization for its residents by July.

Re-elected Bataraza Mayor Abraham Ibba said on June 6 that his administration will pursue the “zero hospitalization payment” program like what he committed in the May 13 poll.

Kaya ngayon kapag nabuksan na ang ating hospital dito ay dadagdagan na lang ‘yon siguro mga P35 million na,” Ibba said on June 6 after he and other re-elected and newly-elected officials took their oath in the municipality.

A 40-bed capacity hospital is now undergoing the final stages of construction in Bataraza and is expected to be inaugurated in July to begin operation.

Currently, Bataraza residents who need medical attention seek it in Brooke’s Point, where the LGU is allotting P10 million annually to assist with their needs.

Aside from this, Ibba said that Bataraza is also proposing to construct a P130-million municipal hall building in the local government complex, as well as speeding up the construction of the sports complex to host in the provincial meet in November.

“‘Yan ang mga nakalatag nating mga proyekto. Kung pagpalain ng Panginoon ay by July or August ay sisimulan na. Ang bagong four-storey municipal hall ay may escalator and elevator. Then ongoing din ang sports complex kasi tayo ang magho-host ng provincial meet,” Ibba said.

He also said that all national government offices will be relocated in the Old Public Market to operate as a one-stop-shop for residents of Bataraza.

Meanwhile, Ibba assured that all their plans and commitments will take place as soon as possible.
