Police discovered the lifeless body of a 56-year-old farmer four days after he was reported missing in Barangay Taratak, Bataraza.
Authorities identified the victim as a certain alias Jose, married and a resident of the same barangay.
The Palawan Police Provincial Office (PalPPO) said the body was found on July 28 at around 9 a.m. in a grassy area, according to the Bataraza Municipal Police Station (MPS), which responded to a report from the community.
Based on their initial investigation, Jose was last seen on the morning of July 24 leaving his residence. He reportedly joined a drinking session that day but left the gathering around 5 p.m. and was supposed to return home.
His family became concerned when he failed to come home and immediately began searching for him.
“There were no visible signs of struggle or injuries noted on the body,” Palawan police said.
An autopsy has been requested from the Palawan Forensic Unit to determine the cause and manner of death.
