ArenaPlus warned the public against fake and misleading deepfake videos circulating online that misuse its brand name and identity.
In a statement, ArenaPlus, the flagship sportsbook brand of DigiPlus Interactive Corp., said the videos are fraudulent and did not come from the company.
“These videos which are fake, unauthorized, and even used private individuals that are not connected to the Brand did not originate from ArenaPlus, nor were created, approved, commissioned, produced, or released by ArenaPlus in any form,” the company said.
ArenaPlus said the fabricated videos were designed to deceive the public and falsely link the brand to messages and endorsements from people who are not connected to the company.
“The fabricated videos constitute a malicious misappropriation of ArenaPlus assets, designed to deceive the public and falsely link our brand to unauthorized messaging and unauthorized endorsement from individuals not related or connected to the Brand,” it said.
The company stressed that the videos do not reflect its views, operations, standards, or official communications, adding that any claim of a connection to ArenaPlus is false.
ArenaPlus said it is working with its parent company to identify the source of the videos and stop their spread online. It added that it is coordinating with digital platform providers and relevant authorities and is prepared to take legal action.
“ArenaPlus, in conjunction with its parent company DigiPlus, is treating this matter with the utmost seriousness and is actively taking steps to identify the source of these fraudulent videos,” the statement said.
The company urged the public to ignore the videos and to avoid sharing unverified content.
