An animal rights group is urging authorities in Puerto Princesa City to probe the alleged rape of a dog by a gang in Barangay San Pedro.

Strategic Power for Animal Respondents (SPAR)-Philippines in a Facebook page post on Wednesday said “raping a dog is a form of animal abuse” that must be stopped because the perpetrators can also be a “threat to the community.”

The January 9 SPAR post failed to offer more details as to when the gang rape of the dog happened, but its representative told Palawan News that it will soon provide information as soon as they have completed getting the details.

The SPAR representative said their own investigation in the city will be handled as soon as possible by Norman Marquez, their para-legal support in Palawan.
