Aborlan conducted a town-wide anti- rabies campaign on August 7-9, vaccinating some 332 pets across various barangays.
The campaign involved 19 Barangay Veterinary Aides (BVAs), who participated as part of their practical activity during the ‘Barangay Veterinary Aides Refresher Course’ held from August 5 to 8.
The PROVET said the effort was aimed at curbing the incidence of rabies, a fatal disease transmitted by dog and cat bites.
Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Darius Mangcucang said that the free anti-rabies vaccination drive was part of the ongoing ‘Rabies Eradication Program’ designed to prevent and control rabies cases in the province.
