Abandoned wood recovered near PPUR

The Coast Guard Substation Sabang and Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park rangers recovered 35 pieces of various types of abandoned timber in Sitio Old Panggangan, Barangay New Panggangan, Puerto Princesa City, on May 2.

According to a report from the Coast Guard Station Central Palawan (CGSCP), the abandoned timber was discovered following a tip from a concerned citizen, prompting a joint operation with the PPUR park rangers.

The recovered wood was immediately transported to Sabang Wharf and turned over to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park Rangers Office for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, the leadership of CGSCP and CGSS Sabang assured that they will continue supporting other government agencies in protecting the environment and combating illegal activities as active members of the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB).
