CELP conducts youth empowerment campaigns in several Palawan towns

A Youth Empowerment Campaign (YEC) aimed at combating bullying, depression, social media, and early pregnancy drew about 650 adolescents from six towns in Palawan.

The activity was spearheaded by the  Aktibong Kabataan Tungo sa Ika-uunlad ng Bayan (AKTIB) under the Community Enhancement and Livelihood Program (CELP), and was held in the towns of  El Nido, Balabac, Roxas, Aborlan, and San Vicente.

It included workshops and a lecture on topics such as social media, stress, unplanned pregnancy, bullying, the value of family, and the power of choice.

The program included an interactive exercise and focus group discussions, as well as a motivational interview, counseling, and mental health advice.

The program is designed to educate out-of-school youth, members of the Sangguniang Kabataan, and students aged 13 to 19 about the risks and protective factors that may contribute to drug addiction.

CELP also aims to conduct the same activity in other municipalities and barangays. Those who want to make a request for conduct of the activity may contact their Facebook Page www.facebook.com/CELPALAWAN, send an email to [email protected] or contact them at the following numbers: 0909-649-6149 and 0950-181-5318 for Smart subscribers or 0995-965-6795 and 0917-133-4273 for Globe.
