5 city barangays still with low water presssure

Five barangays in the city still have low water pressure despite the recent rains.

Jenn Rausa, acting information officer of the Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD), said the water sources of Barangays Bahile, Lucbuan, Tagburos, Binduyan, and Luzviminda have not yet recovered from the drought.

Bahile and Binduyan are still recovering their surface water sources while Lucbuan, Tagburos, and Luzviminda have pumps with regulated water pressure, Rausa said.

She said Bahile’s source is continuously operating but still has low supply, citing its 149 cubic meters water production as of July 4.

Rausa said the water district is still implementing contingency measures to help the remaining areas in the city normalize its water production.

Among the measures is the regulating of valves, water injection, and close monitoring of the progress in the barangays, she also said.

“Para kahit papaano ay habang hinihintay natin makapag-recover ang ating mga source doon ay magkaroon pa rin ng maayos na supply ng tubig diyan sa mga area na ‘yan,” she added.

As of July 22, Campo Uno has a flow rate of 712 cubic meters.

The PPCWD anticipates their water operation to stabilize in the city by August.
