A program built around ₱1 contributions from police officers to support children has earned the Aborlan Municipal Police Station (MPS) recognition from the Police Regional Office MIMAROPA.
The Aborlan MPS received a Certificate of Commendation for its community outreach program, “Piso ng Pulis mula sa Puso, para sa mga Bata,” during the opening of the 32nd National Crime Prevention Week on September 1.
The recognition was presented at Hinirang Hall in Camp BGen Eugenio C. Navarro, Barangay Suqui, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
Led by acting police chief Police Major Orland A. Tagaro, the program brings together the police, local officials and community groups to assist children and promote their welfare and safety.

“Ang parangal na ito ay hindi lamang pagkilala sa Aborlan MPS, kundi pagkilala rin sa sama-samang malasakit at bayanihan ng ating komunidad. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng patuloy na sumusuporta sa aming mga programa para sa kapakanan ng mga bata,” the police station said.
The Aborlan MPS credited Mayor Lito O. Tito, Vice Mayor Marvin C. Madeja, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, municipal government employees and Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Bernardita C. Dandal for supporting the program.
It also thanked Palawan 3rd District Rep. Gil A. Acosta Jr., members of his staff and the Alpha Phi Omega Community Service Oriented Fraternity and Sorority.
The police station said the recognition would encourage its personnel to improve the program and continue community projects for children. However, it did not disclose how much money had been collected or how many children had received assistance.
