DOT-accredited tour guides and members of the Dewil Eco Mangrove Association in El Nido received support kits through a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program aimed at strengthening local tourism workers and environmental stewards.
The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, in partnership with the Department of Tourism-MIMAROPA, Save Palawan Seas Foundation (SPSF) and Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), conducted the TPB Members’ CSR Program in El Nido.
The initiative provided essential kits to DOT-accredited tour guides to support them in delivering safer, more sustainable and quality tourism experiences to visitors.
Beneficiaries from the Dewil Eco Mangrove Association were also included in the distribution in recognition of their role in ecotourism and environmental conservation.
Organizers said the initiative was intended to support local tourism workers while strengthening community participation in protecting tourism destinations.
“This CSR program is a big step in empowering our guides and protecting the destinations we love,” the organizers said.
The program brought together government agencies, tourism organizations and community groups in providing assistance to local tourism frontliners and community-based conservation workers.
