DENR MIMAROPA chief tells 67 personnel: New posts bring greater responsibility

Sixty-seven personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) MIMAROPA have taken their oath after receiving new appointments, promotions or assignments across the region.

The group includes 29 personnel with original appointments, 34 who were promoted and four who were transferred to new positions.

DENR MIMAROPA Regional Executive Director Felix Mirasol Jr. said career advancement must come with greater accountability and commitment to public service.

“Your appointment or promotion is not a safety net; it is an acceptance of greater responsibilities,” Mirasol said during the oath-taking ceremony.

He told the personnel to carry out their duties with integrity, professionalism and dedication. He said their new positions require a renewed commitment to protect the environment and serve communities that depend on natural resources.

Forest Ranger Jomer Macapas, one of those promoted, said his previous positions taught him that environmental protection requires more than technical work.

“Each position I have held came with its own challenges and lessons, but all of them gave me a valuable perspective—that protecting the environment is a responsibility that requires heart, integrity, and genuine concern,” Macapas said.

DENR MIMAROPA said the personnel will help carry out its programs to protect, conserve and manage the region’s environment and natural resources.

The agency did not provide the names, offices or provincial assignments of all 67 personnel. It was therefore unclear whether any of them came from or were assigned to Palawan.
