Sa advisory ng PowerSource Philippines Inc., magsisimula ang power interruption mula 12 a.m. hanggang 12 p.m. kada araw at magpapatuloy “until the fuel crisis is stable.”

“This extremely short notice has caused widespread disruption among residents and local businesses,” ayon sa mensahe na ipinadala ng concerned resident.

“Port Barton is a growing tourist destination, and many of us depend heavily on reliable electricity to operate accommodations, restaurants, and other services,” dagdag pa niya.

“The lack of proper planning, consultation, and timely communication has significantly affected business operations, guest experiences, and overall livelihood in the area,” aniya.

Sudden 12-hour brownout in Port Barton raises concern among residents and businesses

A sudden announcement of daily power interruptions starting Saturday, April 25 is causing concern and disruption among residents and business owners in Port Barton, San Vicente, in northern Palawan.

In an advisory, PowerSource Philippines Inc. said the power interruption will run from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily and will continue “until the fuel crisis is stable.”

The company said the situation is due to the global energy crisis and delays in subsidy payments.

The announcement, however, drew complaints as it was reportedly issued only a few hours before implementation.

A resident and business owner in the area told Palawan News that the situation is affecting the community, especially tourism and livelihoods.

“This extremely short notice has caused widespread disruption among residents and local businesses,” the concerned resident said in a message.

“Port Barton is a growing tourist destination, and many of us depend heavily on reliable electricity to operate accommodations, restaurants, and other services,” the resident added.

The resident also pointed out that the lack of proper planning and communication has a direct impact on business operations and tourist experience.

“The lack of proper planning, consultation, and timely communication has significantly affected business operations, guest experiences, and overall livelihood in the area,” the resident said.

The message sender called for attention to the issue to highlight the impact of inadequate infrastructure and coordination on communities that rely on tourism.
