The BTS World Tour “ARIRANG” event at SM City Puerto Princesa drew local fans and underscored the growing and active ARMY community in the city, as supporters gathered to celebrate the global K-pop group’s comeback.
Beyond the music and fanfare, the activity became a space for connection among fans who, according to organizers, initially did not know each other.
“Actually, di magkakakilala ‘yan sila, so ang ginawa namin ay gumawa ng GC, tapos doon nagpa-laro, then this event,” organizer Ken said, describing how the group built a community leading up to the gathering.
Fans filled the venue wearing themed wings, carrying BTS-inspired merchandise, and participating in comeback-related activities, creating a lively atmosphere inside the mall.
The event also highlighted how fandom transcends age and gender, with attendees from different backgrounds coming together over a shared interest.
For some participants, the event marked a first-time experience.
“Masaya na may paganito sila. Actually, first time ko umattend sa mga ganito,” said Emilia, a BTS fan since 2022.
Organizers earlier encouraged ARMYs to anticipate fan moments and comeback activities, helping build momentum for the event and reflecting increasing local engagement with BTS-related events in Puerto Princesa.
