The local government of Aborlan is targeting cruise ship passengers and expanding its tour packages as it pushes to position the town on Palawan’s tourism map.
Municipal Tourism Officer Karenn Dondon said proposals have already been submitted to cruise ship agents in Puerto Princesa City to include Aborlan in cruise itineraries.
“Nagpasa kami ng proposal sa mga cruise ship agents na isama kami sa mga destinations pag may dumarating na cruise ship and kasama na yun for bidding sa mga cruise ship so naghihintay na lang kami ng result kung officially kasama na si Aborlan sa magiging destination nila,” she said.
Alongside this, the town has launched two new tour packages—the Aborlan East Coast Tour and Aborlan Farms Tour—offering a mix of coastal and agricultural experiences.
The farm tour features destinations such as Rodriguez Integrated Farm, Rooted Coffee and Cacao Fruits Farm, Rooted Creamery and Dairy Farm, Hidden Grace Resort, DonBak Pottery, and Western Philippines University farms. Visitors can engage with local farmers, observe coffee and chocolate processing, and experience activities like fruit-picking and plantation hikes.
Meanwhile, the East Coast Tour highlights white sand beaches and coastal communities, including the Indigenous Peoples group Tagbanua, showcasing their culture, traditions, and way of life.
Dondon said more packages are in development, including the West Coast Tour, Heritage Walk Tour in the poblacion, and the Sea-Borlan Tour for island hopping.
“Bale yung ready sa ngayon ay yung farms and east coast tour pa lang and matatapos na rin namin yung Aborlan West Coast Tour. Meron na kaming initial evaluation and assessment before namin i-launch by April,” she said.
“We also look forward to the Heritage Walk Tour sa poblacion and yung Sea-Borlan Tours, ito naman yung island hopping,” she added.
Mayor Lito Tito expressed optimism that Aborlan’s proximity to Puerto Princesa City will help attract more visitors once the destinations are formally mapped and promoted.
“Malapit lang sa Puerto Princesa City so pwedeng isali sa tourism map na isa sa mga gusto natin. Kami dito ay nagpa-plano rin na yung magagandang lugar ay magawan ng mapa para doon iikot yung ating mga bisita,” Tito said.
The tourism push builds on the town’s development plan launched during its first tourism fair in September 2025, which showcased Aborlan’s natural attractions, historical sites, and cultural heritage.
