The Philippine Statistics Authority announced in a press release on January 25 that the registration for children under five years of age is now open, encouraging parents and guardians to visit designated registration centers to include their child in the national system.
The campaign is part of an ongoing program by the Philippine Statistics Authority’s office in Palawan (PSA Palawan) to ensure that all Filipinos have access to essential services afforded those who hold National ID cards.
PSA Palawan started the first Rehistro Bulilit campaign in September 2024, registering children from one-to-four years old in select barangays in Puerto Princesa and Aborlan, prioritizing indigenous communities for registration.
The National ID, as a legally valid form of identification across all government offices in the Philippines, unlocks access to important services, including school enrolment, scholarship applications, student assistance programs, and the ability to open junior savings accounts at financial institutions.
Those who have not yet received their PhilSys ID from the Post Office can use their digital National ID online and on the eGov app, available on Android and iOS.
The digital version of the National ID on eGov can also be used by those who wish to do transactions that require a signature. Other government-issued IDs, such as the Senior Citizens’ ID card, are also available on the eGov app.
PSA Palawan reminded parents and guardians to schedule for local registration at the PhilSys Registration center near them, or to contact PSA Palawan at [email protected].
