The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration has announced favorable weather conditions for Palawan today, though localized thunderstorms may develop later in the day.
Palawan is expected to experience mostly clear skies, with temperatures ranging between 25 to 31 degrees Celsius. While the day will be generally sunny, residents should prepare for isolated thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.
The eastern sections of Luzon and MIMAROPA, which include parts of Palawan, are currently influenced by a weather phenomenon known as the shearline—caused by the convergence of warm easterlies from the Pacific Ocean and the cooler northeast monsoon or hanging amihan.
This interaction brings sporadic rain to some areas but is less likely to significantly impact the province today.
For nearby regions such as the Calayaan Islands, similar temperature ranges and conditions are expected, with the chance of brief rainfall due to the same weather systems.
In contrast, eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao are experiencing cloudy skies and scattered rain showers caused by the easterlies. PAGASA also issued gale warnings for northern coastal waters, particularly in Batanes, Cagayan, and nearby areas, urging fishermen to avoid venturing out into rough seas.
