Eighty individuals from the 3rd legislative district of Palawan is set to undergo the Government Internship Program (GIP) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

During the orientation conducted Monday, DOLE-Palawan Field Officer Luigi Evangelista explained that GIP is intended for the youth who needs exposure and work experience.

He said that the 80 individuals will undergo 66 days or three months of work in any government offices such as barangay and municipal halls.

“Sa programang ito ng DOLE sa pakikipagtulungan ng 3rd Congressional District ng Palawan ay binibigyan ang mga kabataan na hindi pa nakakaranas na makapagtrabaho, for example college graduate na hindi pa nagtatrabaho, even high school graduate or TechVoc graduate para mabigyan sila ng pagkakataon na ma-expose sa mga government service”, Evangelista said.

He said that each beneficiary will receive P320 honorarium per day or P240 as salary and P80 as transportation allowance.

An internship agreement and memorandum of understanding were also signed by the office of the 3rd legislative district and DOLE on the same day.

The program also started Monday and will end on December 15.
