Thirty-four barangay personnel from different villages in the municipality of Linapacan completed a four-day Emergency Operations Center (EOC) training aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness and emergency response operations at the community level.
The training was conducted from April 27 to 30 through the initiative of the local government unit of Linapacan in partnership with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), which served as trainers.
Participants underwent sessions on the proper operation of EOCs, including facility design requirements, communication systems, information management, and planning protocols intended to improve barangay readiness during disasters and emergency situations.
The activity aimed to strengthen the capability of barangays in effectively managing their Emergency Operations Centers as part of ongoing disaster preparedness measures.
The training also forms part of the provincial government’s broader initiative under the administration of Gov. Amy Roa Alvarez to build more resilient and disaster-ready communities across Palawan.
