Personnel of the 2nd Palawan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) joined a mangrove tree-planting activity in Barangay Nicanor Zabala as part of the 24th Pangadlawan Festival, the police unit said.
According to the 2nd Palawan PMFC, the activity was led by barangay officials of Nicanor Zabala in partnership with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO)-Roxas.
Also participating were personnel from the Roxas Municipal Police Station, Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT), the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT), barangay health workers, and residents.
The police unit said the initiative aimed to strengthen environmental conservation through mangrove rehabilitation, noting the role of mangroves in preventing coastal erosion, providing habitat for marine life, and protecting coastal communities.
“Layunin ng aktibidad na mapalawak ang pangangalaga sa kapaligiran sa pamamagitan ng pagtatanim ng mga bakawan na nagsisilbing mahalagang panangga laban sa coastal erosion, tirahan ng mga yamang-dagat, at proteksiyon sa mga pamayanang baybayin,” the 2nd Palawan PMFC said.
The police unit added that its participation underscores its continuing support for environmental protection programs and its collaboration with local government units and community stakeholders to promote the conservation of natural resources and help maintain safe and resilient communities.
