As of 5 p.m. on February 24, the municipality of Roxas has established itself as the early leader in the secondary level medal rankings, with four medals—three gold and one bronze. At the primary level, Roxas excelled, obtaining one gold medal and two silver medals, culminating in a total of three medals.

Cagayancillo has also demonstrated achievement, earning one silver and one bronze medal in the secondary level, along with one gold medal in the elementary level. Taytay, a formidable competitor, secured a silver medal at the secondary level and achieved one gold and one bronze at the elementary level.

Bataraza, Balabac, Narra, Quezon, San Vicente, and Dumaran are among the other municipalities that have earned medals; each of these groups has won one or more medals.

The opening ceremony of the Palarong Panlalawigan 2025 was a vibrant occasion, showcasing a procession of athletes from all 23 towns. Delegations paraded in their unique attire, escorted by coaches, trainers, delegation officials, local government representatives, and educators.

Executive Assistant IV Atty. Zaira Mae Awat, representing Palawan Governor Dennis Socrates, officially inaugurated the games, joined by members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and other important officials. Sports Development Officer IV Silvany Delight Gastanes participated in the event as a technical official, alongside the PGO Sports Office, ensuring that competitions met high standards.

With the theme “Breaking Boundaries, Building Harmony, Embracing Excellence and Unity Through Sports,” the Palarong Panlalawigan 2025 highlights the importance of sportsmanship, unity, and personal growth among Palawan’s young athletes.

As part of the support from the province for the athletes, coaches, and officials participating, Governor Socrates personally visited the billeting quarters of all 23 delegations in Narra a few days before the tournament started, carrying food packs with him.

The food packs included rice, noodles, canned goods, biscuits, juice, and chocolate powder, benefiting an estimated 8,000 participants from various municipalities.

Socrates pointed out that the Palarong Panlalawigan transcends mere competition; it is also a celebration of friendships, teamwork, and the pride that comes from representing one’s community.

The event is collaboratively coordinated by the Department of Education (DepEd) Palawan and the Provincial Sports Division, with assistance from other government agencies and local partners.
