100% hike in PWD pension eyed by 2020

The Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of the Puerto Princesa City government is pushing for a 100 percent increase in the monthly pension of its members.

Genaro Manaay, PDAO officer said that the office will write a letter to the City Council requesting an increase.

Persons with disability in Puerto Princesa City are receiving P600 quarterly or P200 monthly.

The officials have committed to fast track the request, he said.

Manaay called on families to register their PWDs member.

All PWD who have reached 60 years old will be turned over to the Senior Citizens Assistance Program (SCAP).

Currently, there are 3,500 PDAO pensioner in Puerto Princesa City out of the 5,050 PWDs in the city, 3,500 are pensioners.
