There are at least 10 persons of interest (POIs) in the controversial “item-for-sale” scheme that is allegedly happening at the Department of Education Palawan Schools Division Office (DepEd PSDO)).
Board Member Ryan Maminta said the Committee on Basic Education of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will invite some of the persons of interest to appear in the next meeting to shed light on the issue.
He said the persons involved include DepEd personnel and private individuals from different municipalities of the province who might be able to disclose information that will, once and for all, resolve the issue in DepEd-Palawan.
“At dahil tila nabuhayan na ng loob ang mga guro at mga kinauukulan na may kinalaman sa maling pangyayaring ito na nagiging kultura na dahil organisadong sindikato ang nakapaloob sa sistemang ito, nais kong mag-sumite ng persons of interest na maaring may kinalaman sa usaping ito, sa Committe on Education na gagamitin para sa imbitasyon sa gagawing pagdinig sa susunod na linggo,” Maminta said in his privilege speech during their regular session on Tuesday, July 22.
He added that as the Sangguniang Panlalawigan resumes its inquiry in aid of legislation, he also wants Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Elsie Barrios and Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Rafael Manalo and Rodel Magnaye to once again be invited to appear before the committee inquiry.
