A total of ₱71,773,184 in financial assistance will be released to 7,168 tourism workers affected by Tropical Cyclone “Tino” in Palawan as part of the government’s early recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office MIMAROPA convened a virtual coordination meeting on February 2 through its Disaster Response Management Division to finalize the delivery of early recovery services in storm-hit areas.
The assistance will cover tourism workers in the municipalities of Araceli, Coron, Culion, El Nido, Linapacan, Roxas, San Vicente, and Taytay, which were among the hardest hit by the cyclone.
In December 2025, 1st Palawan District Rep. Rosalie “Mommy Rose” Salvame disclosed this in a media meetup.
She said tourism workers in northern Palawan will receive cash assistance from the DSWD because of Tino.
DSWD MIMAROPA said the intervention aims to restore livelihoods and strengthen the capacity of affected communities, particularly those dependent on tourism, to recover from the disaster.
The agency added that enhanced coordination with concerned local governments will ensure the efficient implementation of recovery programs across the identified areas in Palawan.
