A woman in Quezon town was hacked and wounded by a relative when she tried to calm him down from arguing with her mother Monday afternoon.

Municipal police station officer-in-charge P/Maj. Lodell Lota said victim Ronalyn Caballero, 23, is now recuperating in the hospital after she was hacked with a bolo by suspect Peter Cumawas on the night of August 19.

Lota said Caballero was hacked while trying to pacify her mother and Cumawas from arguing with each other because the latter ran amok by first hitting their house with the cutting tool.

Lota said Caballero’s mother and the suspect have a long-standing feud that they were unable to fix.

He said the incident was reported by Jovert Malvas, who informed their investigation that Cumawas was heavily intoxicated on the night of the incident.

Cumawas fled the area but was arrested later in Aborlan town.
