The Western Command (WESCOM) will host a concert Friday, December 21, dubbed “Rakrakan para sa Kapayapaan 2018” at 5 p.m. at Robinsons Place Palawan in celebration of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) 83rd anniversary.
The event will feature a photostatic display, peace arts exhibit, film showing, and other surprise performances.
WESCOM spokesperson Capt. Cherryl Tindog said Thursday that aside from the anniversary celebration, the event is also to honor the Filipino people and soldiers.
“This is our way of thanking and honoring our people, our families and friends, and fellow soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen for their continued and unwavering dedication and support to WESCOM and their AFP as a whole,” Tindog said.
In addition, Tindog said the event will raise awareness and appreciation of the partnership between the Palaweños and WESCOM.
“We also hope that through this activity, we will be able to increase the awareness and appreciation of our people on the significance of the strong resolve and partnership between WESCOM and the Palaweños in working together to sustain the peace and order in the Province,” she added.
The activity is in partnership with the provincial government of Palawan, Robinsons Place Palawan, Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association Incorporated (AFPSLAI), Philippine Navy Savings and Loan Association Incorporated (PNSLAI) and Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative (PAFCPRC).
