Western Command celebrated the 5th Armed Forces of the Filipino People’s Week 2019 through music, and static display at the Robinsons Place Palawan on Saturday.

With the theme “Bayaning Sundalo: Sakripisyo mo, Dangal ng Sambayang Pilipino,” Lt. Col. Stephen Penetrante, spokesperson of the WESCOM, said the activities aim to recognize and give honor to all Filipino soldiers, especially those who were killed-in-action (KIA).

“Isa ito sa paraan para ipakita ang tribute natin sa lahat ng sundalo dahil sa kanilang dedication at sakripisyo. Gusto natin ipaalam sa lahat na marami tayong magagawa, kapag nagsasama-sama  lahat ang mga task forces natin ay hindi tayo matatalo,”

The event included a live concert of the Tactical Operations Wing West Combo band of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the 3rd Marine Brigade’s band.

Penetrante  said that event is in accordance with Republic Act 10664 or the act that declared the last week of August as Armed Forces of the Filipino People Week.
