The Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) management has recommended to its governing board the lifting of Water Crisis Alert Level 3 in Puerto Princesa City.

Information officer Jenn Rausa told Palawan News that their main water source at Campo Uno has already begun to recover to help stabilize the supply with their temporary sources – the Montible and Lapu Lapu rivers.

Rausa said the recommendation to the board was made on Wednesday.

ā€œSa ngayon kasi mataas na rin naman ang total, nasa halos 41,000 (cubic meter per day), kung aabangan natin next week baka mas mataas pa,ā€ she said.

Rausa added that while the lifting is expected to take effect soon, there will still be interruptions to occur as the majority of the water supply comes from the temporary source.

The temporary source which is part of their Water Supply Improvement Project Phase II still has incomplete facilities as it just undergoing construction.

Shut off of operations will still be encountered for some time if it happened that there are problems to fix with generator set or turbidity problem, Rausa added.
