Two persons were killed while one was seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a multicab early Friday afternoon along the national highway in Narra town.

An initial report sent by Police Regional Office (PRO) MIMAROPA information officer P/Lt. Col. Imelda Tolentino identified the victims as Baja Kawasaki motorcycle driver Grey Luntad of Barangay Ipilan, Brooke’s Point, and Sonny Boy Gali, and Sikan Gali, both residents of Brgy. Burirao, Narra.

Luntad and Sonny Boy were declared dead-on-arrival (DOA) at the Narra municipal hospital, while Sikan is still being treated for grave injuries sustained during the accident.

The driver of the multicab, on the other hand, was named as Bernard Regenio, a resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Aborlan, who allegedly failed to present his driver’s license. He is now under the custody of the Narra municipal police station.

Tolentino clarified that the accident did not happen along the national highway in Brgy. Abo-Abo, Sofronio Española as earlier reported, but in Purok Maligaya, Sitio Palo-Palo, Burirao in Narra town, while the victims were on their way to Puerto Princesa City.

The police report said it happened around 3:30 p.m., but concerned citizens who informed Palawan News about it said it occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Tolentino said Luntad and his companions were riding along the national road from the south direction when Regenio’s multicab suddenly appeared from the opposite lane causing the head-on collision.

As a result, Grey Luntad and Sonny Boy Gali both were pronounced DOA by attending physician of Narra Hospital, while Sikan Gali sustained serious physical injuries. The driver of Multicab Rusco was not hurt and brought to Narra MPS for proper disposition.
