If only for their cover of Daniel Padilla’s “Adik sa ‘Yo,” the all-US Navy band Far East Edition was such a hit when they performed in two venues in Puerto Princesa City last week.
The band, a spinoff of the US 7th Fleet Band, performed at the Mendoza Park and SM City to the delight of the locals. They also did small performances in three schools and conducted music workshops.
Band leader Vincent Moody told Palawan News said that their mission was to “spread love and music,” by performing a wide genre of classical, rock and pop and jazz.
The Far East Edition had Stephen Hux on drums, Joshua Haney and Victor Reyes on guitars, Ian Cooper, Jacob Niederman, and Vincent Moody on brass and wind, and Brian Kloppenburg and Holden Moyer on vocals.
Captain Bernie Wang, the 7th Fleet Theater, Security Cooperation Director and Senior Officer said the concert tour was part of their ongoing tour of Southeast Asia to express support to their allies including the Philippines.
