An unidentified man’s body with upper and lower limbs removed was found floating in the waters of Sitio Agis-Agis, Barangay Bugsok, Balabac town, Wednesday.
P/Lt. Nebuchadnezzar Matrio, police chief of Balabac Municipal Police Station said that around 10 AM last Wednesday, the decomposing body was found by an employee of Jewelmer farm.
Matrio added that because the head was removed and only the man’s undergarment, a “oailin kalin” brand undergarment was seen, the responding team could not identify the man.
“Parte nalang po, parts nalang po ng katawan ang nakita, yong body nalang po mismo, wala na po ‘yong upper, lower limbs niya at saka ‘yong dibdib niya,” he said.
Because of the condition of the cadaver, he said that the responding team decided to bury the body for safety and health purposes.
Meanwhile, Matrio said that they could not say that it was another crocodile attack because there were no recent attack reported to them.
The last crocodile attack was last September 25, where a 12 year old boy was a victim.
Matrio said that the body came from other place and not from the town because there were no cases of missing persons reported to them.
“I think napadpad lang po ‘yan dito, kasi wala naman pong insidente ng buwaya ang na-report sa amin maliban nga doon sa bata. Wala rin pong reported sa amin na pangyayari na nalunod, wala at wala rin pong reported na missing sa amin. Kaya malamang po napadpad lang po ‘yan sa lugar namin,” he said.
