Some 576 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under the office of the 3rd Legislative District have received their salaries in time for Christmas.
Under the program, workers from the different barangays of Aborlan and Puerto Princesa City engaged in short-term identified community works for the duration of 30 days.
They are into short-term social community works such as but not limited to repair, maintenance, and/or improvement of common public facilities and infrastructure like schools and health centers, debris clearing, de-clogging of canals, debris segregation and materials recovery, stockpiling and clearing, among others.
On December 5, beneficiaries already received their one month salary amounting to P9,600 or P320 daily in coordination with the office of Rep. Gil Acosta Jr. (3rd Legislative District).
“Through DOLE ay nagkaroon ang 576 ng trabaho sa loob ng 30 days sa kani-kanilang barangay tulad ng paglilinis ng paaralan, paglilinis sa tabing dagat at ilog, pagtatanggal ng mga bara sa kanal, pagtatabas ng malalagong damo at iba pa depende sa pangangailangan ng kanilang komunidad,” he said in a statement.
