One Southeast Asian Box Turtle (Cuora amboinensis) was turned over to the Palawan Council for Sutainable Development (PCSD) Wildlife Enforcers by Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park Site Manager Angelique Songco last weekend, August 22.

According to a report released by PCSD, the Southeast Asian Box Turtle, currently designated as a “endangered species” under PCSD Resolution No. 15-521, which was reportedly discovered by Songco at the Island Divers Venture, Manalo Extension in Brgy. Bancao Bancao. She later informed the wildlife enforcement officers about it.

The carapace of the turtle is 18 cm long, 17.5 cm wide, and has a plastron of 15.5 cm. At 1:55 p.m., it was recovered and taken to the PCSD office for proper disposal.
