A tricycle driver was stabbed and robbed by his passengers early morning, Saturday, along NAPOCOR Road in Barangay San Manuel.

In a report sent by P/Col. Socrates Faltado, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, the victim was identified as Michael Arsenio Mahinay, 21, a resident of Brgy. San Jose.

The suspects were identified as Jerome Pellingon Esparagoza and Jhon Mark Tanaya Lamboso, both 23, and residents of Brgy. Manggahan.

Investigation revealed that Mahinay was hired by the suspects from Rizal Avenue to Solid Road near Go Hotel but upon reaching the place, one of the suspects asked him to transport them to Brgy. San Manuel, when they’ve reached a dark area, the suspects declared a hold-up and stabbed the victim on his abdomen.

After stabbing the victim, the suspects ran away.

Responding barangay officials brought the victim to the Ospital ng Palawan for treatment.

The personnel of Puerto Princesa City Police Office Station 1 immediately conducted a hot pursuit and follow-up operation together with the barangay officials and were able to apprehend the suspects.

At 8:00 a.m. of the same day the suspects were turned over to the police station.
