Timeline of Madreo vs. Bayron

November 20, 2013 – A certain Aldrin Madreo filed a case of serious dishonesty against Lucilo Bayron, and son Karl Bayron, before the Ombudsman.

December 15, 2016 – Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales orders Mayor Bayron’s dismissal from service and perpetual disqualification from holding any public office, cancellation of all retirement benefits, eligibility, and prohibition to take any Civil Service examination.

February 2, 2017 – Mayor Bayron files a petition for review before the Court of Appeals, with prayer for an issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) on the Ombudsman.

February 8, 2017 – DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan issues an order implementing the Ombudsman’s dismissal order against Bayron and his son, Karl.

February 10, 2017 – Bayron thru Atty. Winston Gonzales has officially received the implementation of the Ombudsman’s decision on his dismissal order.

February 16, 2017 – Marcaida takes oath as mayor of Puerto Princesa City.

March 20, 2017 – Ombudsman grants a motion for reconsideration filed by Karl Bayron, reducing the penalty for both respondents from permanent disqualification to a mere three-month suspension.

June 23, 2017 – DILG re-installs Bayron as city Mayor.

June 30, 2017 – Marcaida takes oath as vice mayor.

July 6, 2017 – Ombudsman issues a new ruling stating that March 20 decision only applies to Karl Bayron.
