The suspect, on the other hand, was identified as trailer truck driver Froilan Lagrada, 55, married, and a resident of Barangay San Miguel. Maceda said he is facing a case of homicide due to reckless imprudence  under Article 365 of the Revised Penal Code

Maceda said Nario, the driver of the white Nissan Urvan vehicle that Betinol was riding, was also rushed to the hospital because he is in critical condition.

Initial investigation revealed that around 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, the drivers of the two shuttle vans were on their way to northern Palawan going up through an elevated curve of Kilometer 42 when the truck being driven by Lagrada suddenly appeared from the opposite direction going down very fast to the poblacion.

Maceda added the skid mark of trailer truck that was driven by Lagrada was seen and recorded in the accident area.

Maceda added that the site is an accident prone area.

A follow-up investigation is still being conducted by the traffic police.
