SOFRONIO ESPAÑOLA, Palawan — Schools in this town have identified classrooms that can be used as quarantine areas in case some residents will be flagged as persons under investigation (PUI).
Municipal councilor Diosdado Tingson, health committee chairman of the Sangguniang Bayan, said the identification of the quarantine areas is part of Sofronio Española’s preventive measures against COVID-19.
Each elementary school in their town, he said, was told to sanitize and prepare 5 classrooms in case there will be PUI patients. The Municipal Health Office (MHO) and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) will help in implementing this.
“Idi-disinfect ang mga classrooms na ito at lilinisin at lalagyan ng mga beddings agad katuwang ang MDRRMO natin at MHO. Gagamitin ito kung sakaling magkaroon tayo ng PUI sa bayan natin. Bale pang-alalay lang muna ito dahil alam natin dadalhin din talaga sila sa mga selected hospitals natin dito sa Palawan. So far, paghahanda lang ito,” Tingson said to Palawan News.
Palawan State University (PSU) Sofronio Española Campus, Tingson said, has prepared 8 classrooms that can also be used for the purpose.
