The management of SM City Puerto Princesa assured the public Wednesday that it is already addressing the reported unpleasant smell emanating from the upper ground floor area.
In a statement sent to Palawan News by SM marketing officer Anna Leah Amanda Jaurige, she explained that the cause of the foul smell has already been identified by their operations team.
“The cause of the incident has been identified in an isolated area on the Upper Ground Floor of SM City Puerto Princesa. Repairs and maintenance are already ongoing. The rest of the mall is in normal operations [sic],” she said in the statement.
However, the management did not give details.
A netizen posted on his Facebook account about the foul odor coming from a certain portion of the SM City Puerto Princesa’s ground floor area, which caused its temporary closure from the public.
“Sa nag pa-plan po pumunta ng SM Puerto, closed po ang isang part sa ground floor nila. Me isang area sa ground floor na naglalabas ng napaka bahong amoy. Di pa alam why o ano gagawin nila para maayos agad ito. Pero sana maayos nila agad [sic],” said the netizen’s post.
Meanwhile, the affected establishments from the main entrance of the mall near its supermarket will remain closed, while the staff is still conducting maintenance and repair.
The supermarket, however, remains open for customers.
