The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in San Vicente town recently held a month-long workshop for young people to hone their talents and skills in arts, music, dancing, and acting.

Mark Anthony Tabangay, SK Federation president in the municipality, said the workshop aims to help the participant develop self- confidence.

“Ang isa sa mga rason kasi kung bakit namin gusto magkaroon ng mga ganitong talents shows, mga workshops, is to promote or to heighten ‘yong self-awareness and self-esteem ng mga bata. Sabi ng dati kong mentor, most of the young people na may mataas na self-esteem ay nagsu-succeed sa buhay,” Tabangay said.

Those who completed the training will perform in a recital on June 17 to 21 during the town’s “Malagnang Festival.”

The performance will be highlighted by a reenactment of the town’s history.

The enrollment started on May 22 until May 23 where participants were classified based on their talents.

Tabangay, a product of the same workshops, said its a venue for the youth of the town to discover and develop their talents and skills.

What is important ay nagtra-try tayo na ma-develop sa kanila is ‘yong to take risks, mga positive risks,” he pointed out.

Tabangay also said that they have already seen potentials that need to be trained.

He added they aim to produce a big production to showcase the talents of the young people of San Vicente.

The training workshop is an activity of the San Vicente municipal government under the Comprehensive Youth Development Program in partnership with the Office of Pambayang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan.
