The provincial board has approved a resolution requesting the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to provide a shuttle service at the Puerto Princesa International Airport.
The shuttle service, according to Board Member Cherry Pie Acosta, will help passengers departing or leaving the airport and had to travel the distance between the airport’s main entrance along the National Highway and the terminal building.
She claimed that tricycles at the airport charge as high as P200 for ferrying passengers at the airport.
Acosta also urged the airport management to provide additional luggage scales for passengers in order to avoid congestion during times when there are many passengers.
Acosta said that baggage check-in section has the longest queue since no person can go directly to the departure area without checking their baggage.
“Doon sa baggage area a maraming turista na bumibisita sa Palawan at doon na nagtatanggal ng kanilang mga gamit kapag naexcess sila kaya hinihiling natin ito sa CAAP,” Acosta said.
