Local authorities released newly hatched sea turtles on Monday, October 23, at the Fishport in Purok Liway-way, Bgy. Punta-Baja, Rizal, Palawan.

The information office of the town said the eggs were discovered by local fishermen about a month ago.

Among the 137 eggs in total, only four successfully survived, whereas 132 failed to hatch.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), Municipal Tourism Office, Municipal Information Office (MIO), and a number of locals jointly organized their release so that they could return to their natural habitat.
