The Sangguniang Panlalawigan has confirmed Dr. Faye Erika Q. Labrador’s appointment as head of the Palawan Provincial Health Office (PHO) to be in charge of administering and coordinating the province’s health care delivery system.
The confirmation of her appointment took place at the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Tuesday, August 3, which was presided over by Vice Governor Dennis Socrates, a statement released by the Provincial Information Office (PIO) said.

Dr. Labrador remarked in the statement that her job included not only supervising the delivery of high-quality health care to Palaweños but also ensure that all staff carries out their duties to achieve healthy communities.
“The duty of the provincial health officer is to oversee the health care system in the province, and not just to oversee, but to make sure that there is quality health service delivery appropriate for the Palaweños. It is the duty of the provincial health officer [to ensure that] the mission shall be executed. It is to deliver quality, effective, affordable, and efficient health service sa ating mga kababayan [natin],” she said.
She further said that she returned from her residency because she wanted to help the people of the province since she is from Palawan.
Dr. Labrador also said that she would devote herself to the role to which she had been appointed by the province.
“It is really my desire to serve the province of Palawan that’s why I came back from the residency. Although I’m married to a non-Palaweño, it is really a desire to come back because it is my province. Rest assured that I will be of service to the health of the province of Palawan from this day onwards,” she added.
Before her appointment, she served as officer-in-charge of the Roxas Medicare Hospital from 2015 to August last year.
