SAN VICENTE, Palawan — Taking cue from a national directive in response to the growing threat of COVID-19 virus, the municipality of San Vicente announced on Tuesday the suspension of three major local events – the town fiesta and foundation day, the “baroto” festival and the Summer Festival, all previously slated for April.

Mayor Amy Alvarez reportedly ordered the cancellation of town’s planned activities in view of the national government’s declaration of a “state of public health emergency” throughout the country.

SB Mark Anthony Tabangay, SK federation chairman, told Palawan News all of their activities slated until December this year had been cancelled “until further notice.” (with a report from Alex Baaco)
