EL NIDO, Palawan — A Russian national was arrested here by the police for resisting and disobeying persons in authority.
Andrei Umanskii, 31, and currently staying in a boarding house at Sitio Batbat, Barangay Villa Libertad, was detained by personnel of the El Nido Municipal Police Station (MPS) on Friday, March 27, for disobeying Section 151 of the Revised Penal Code.
A report from the El Nido MPS said that at 6 a.m. on March 27, Villa Libertad councilor Marcelino Parangue informed that a drunk foreign national was creating trouble in their barangay.
Initial investigation narrates that at around 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. on the said date, the Russian national had a heated argument with his live-in partner Janna Charlotte Reyes, a native of Boracay in Aklan.
In a fit of jealousy, Umanskii reportedly wrecked the door of his neighbors Masong Castulo and Rey Aborot, whom he accused of having an affair with his live-in partner.
The victims Castulo and Aborot sought help from a tanod who tried to pacify the suspect, however, Umanskii and threatened him.
While being brought to the police station, Umanskii also reportedly assaulted P/Cpl. Zaimon Castañas by kicking him on the knee.
