Rains are expected throughout the MIMAROPA region today due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Aldczar Aurelio, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the ITCZ is affecting a large part of the country.

Itong ITCZ ay kasalukuyan nakakaapekto sa southern Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao,” he said in a forecast on Friday.

The ITCZ is the convergence of the wind from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere which brings weather disturbances such as LPA and storm, PAGASA explained.
