Some 108 persons with disabilities (PWD) from Roxas and Dumaran recently received their back pensions amounting to P500/month from the provincial government’s Local Social Pension (LSP) fund.

Personnel of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) began giving out the cash aid on April 15, according to the Provincial Information Office (PIO).

PSWDO chief Abigail Ablaña said 58 PWDs from Roxas received P3,000 each, as pension for the period January to June 2019.

Another 50 PWDs in Dumaran got P1,500 each in accumulated pension from July to September 2019.

“Ayon na rin sa direktiba ni Gob. Jose Ch. Alvarez, upang agarang mabigyan ng tulong ang mga Palaweño. Kasabay ng pamamahagi ng family food packs para sa mga mamamayan at iba pang mga ayudang patuloy na ipinagkakaloob ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ngayong ipinatutupad ang Enhanced Community Quarantine,” Ablaña said.

According to Ablaña, the PWDs in other towns are also set to receive the same assistance.

“Makakatanggap na rin Local Social Pension ang ilan pang mga PWD sa iba’t-ibang munisipyo ng lalawigan ngayong susunod na mga araw kung saan personal ding ihahatid ng mga kawani ng kanilang tanggapan ang regular na tulong pinansiyal para sa mga ito,” she said.
