Puerto Princesa, Haikou cities sign intent to forge sisterhood pact

Puerto Princesa City has recently signed a letter of intent (LOI) to forge a sisterhood pact with Haikou City, the capital of Hainan province in China, for joint future initiatives on tourism, education, culture and traditions, and trade and commerce.

The signing happened on November 9 between Mayor Lucilo Bayron and Fang Zhongli, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Haikou Municipal People’s Congress at the VJR Hall, Provincial Capitol Building.

Haikou is the capital of Hainan province that is situated on the northern coast by the mouth of the Nandu River.

The event was witnessed by Vice Governor Dennis Socrates, members of the Puerto Princesa City Council, Provincial Police Office director Senior Supt. Gabriel Lopez, department heads, and representatives of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development.
